Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting…
A very Rare and awesome Vintage Guitar. Its an Oscar Schmidt Stella Parlor guitar and its all ready to go. It comes completely set up with a new neck reset and even has the original Geib Soft Shell Case!
No way to determine the exact age of this beauty. Oscar Schmidt was the largest guitar seller in the country from 1879-1939 when, to avoid bankrupcy, sold their brand to Harmony and Sovereign Guitars. We have seen models like this from 1929 to 1935. We are calling it a 1929 just because!
We spent a boat load of dough on this historic guitar. If you were a Bluesman back in the 1920’s, you could assume they either learned on, or played a Stella like this one. They were cheap and loud. When we saw this little beauty, and it still had the Oscar Schmidt Label inside the soundhole, we knew we had to give it a new life!
What we did was do a complete neck reset to give this guitar perfect neck angle for playing ease. It probably plays better now then when it was new. The neck was held on with a big screw. We filled that hole in the neck heel. We also glued the back on and had to provide a new wood nut like the original. The bridge was still with it as was the tailpiece. Both very dirty and worn like the guitar. We, of course, cleaned those up. It also had the awesome original Waverly tuners. Again, filthy but we carefully took them apart and cleaned and oiled them for great performance. We left the patina on the beautiful tuner buttons. They look awesome. The body was dirty but in very good shape for its age. Besides, gluing a few spots on the sides and back, the original Sunburst came thru beautifully and the guitar looks awesome.

This awesome guitar has a birch body in a parlor size. It measures 13 1/2 inches wide at the lower bout. The guitar has a very long 25 1/4 inch scale neck and an unbelievable wide nut at 1 7/8 inches. I felt the extra width instantly. I was not used to that. Great for guys that finger pick!
The action is super low now for playing pleasure. No sore fingers with this guitar. The sound? Very very cool. The birch body give it a special woody tone that isn’t lost in the guitar. Sometimes the woody tones override the ringing of the strings. Not so with this guitar. Its loud and very precise in its tones! Fun to play and hear!
Check out the original Geib Case. What a case. It still has the original latches, hinges and handle. It even still has the accessory box inside with the Geib Metal Logo attached, What a cool case for this awesome guitar.
Vintage and very old so it sold as is no returns. However, I have been hand picking my customers instruments for over 20 years now. This beautiful Stella will certainly not be an exception!
