In this video, I’m diving into a simple yet effective concept that can take your blues riffs to the next level. It’s all about building riffs from chords and then adding some single notes for extra flavor. This technique can open up a lot of possibilities, helping you create more dynamic and interesting lines.

Of course, there are a few tips and tricks to make this approach really shine. One key trick is focusing on the melody note of the chord you’re playing. By starting your riff on that note, your lines will have a natural flow, and everything will sound more connected.

This also helps with keeping your playing smooth and avoiding those moments where you’re searching for the right notes. The smooth voice leading you get from this trick makes everything sound more intentional and helps prevent any awkward gaps in your riffs.
