Son House’s “Grinnin’ In Your Face ” is one of my favorite blues songs, and the vibe, melody, power, hypnotic rhythm, and lyrics are all so damn bluesy! I’ve done a few versions of this song in the past, but I always love revisiting it to see what else it has to say. There’s a killer video of Son House singing this song, accompanying himself by swatting the hell out of an old metal-bodied resonator, so I added that percussive element in to this arrangement.
