GminPentatonic- people on youtube really just refer to the chord changes, and if you listen closely, it pretty much plays along with a 12-bar in G

Use your ear. I know that doesn’t sound helpful but take it at face value. Take the G minor pentatonic but add a major third and intersperse the E minor once in a while. Don’t let worrying about the key ruin your solo, just go for it and see what happens and don’t be afraid

in fact you can play a lot of scales through the other and not only the G pentatonic .. every scale you use will give your music another sphere… so you can go blues (pentatonic) but you also could choose to go minor or major or mixolidic or what you want .. 😉 good luck !

One significant factor in the playing of most good blues players is that they intersperse bits of major AND minor pentatoni in any given song. In fact if you’ll look at the blues playing of top shelf players like BB King, Peter Green, Freddie King, Stevie Ray, Duke Robillard, Robben Ford, et al, you’ll see that they all have their little habits of mixing scales in their own ways, but they ALL do it!
