Hey Guitar players ! This upload we are diving into a Intermediate Blues Guitar Lesson [ A Long Blues run up and down the neck ].
This is quite a difficult run to get under your fingers at first but once you have it dialled in you will see how it can be broken down and applied in many different ways.
The lick lends itself to both major and minor and has taken influence from Marcus King, a little bit of Stevie and a sprinkle of Doyle. Ultimately its an amalgamation of guitarist I really enjoy listening to and have blended bits from all to make this run work.
The first part of the lick can be used octave upon octave and is a great way to climb the neck at speed.
The second part of the lick is utilising double stops and a touch of dorian before travelling back down the neck. – this is very Marcus king.
The last part is a simple pentatonic with a major second thrown in for flavour – I like to think of the second as that Doyle sound.
