In “Little Red Rooster Slide Guitar Improvising in Open G” I steal licks from “Howlin Wolf’s” version and the “Rolling Stones” live version and just play my own version of “Little red Rooster!”

Though it’s a “Willie Dixon” song, I always liked “Howlin Wolf’s” version the best.

It’s a simple song but not easy. Just listen and play along with both versions of the song, by the Stones and Howlin Wolf, who was from the Delta, and his band and figure out how you want to play it.

Like I said…..there is no actual “Not for note” version of this song. It’s a Blues standard everyone plays their own way.
