Learn how to take an old guitar, even one with a bad action, and raise the nut and saddle to make the perfect guitar for steel style playing. Lap style slide guitar is fun and not very hard to learn the basics. I tend to like the tuning DADDAD which is often used by Ben Harper. It lacks the 3rd of the chord and makes for a bold power-chord sound and style.
