Replacement head baskets for these older microphones are nearly impossible to find. After a year of searching I finally came across one and decided to post a video of the process since they are few and far between.

Tools needed :

Small flathead screwdriver
7mm socket

steps :

1) remove mic clip and gently lift / slide out serial number badge

2) use flathead screwdriver to remove screw

3) pull out xlr assembly carefully as to not yank the wires

4) use 7mm socket to remove inner bolt. If the socket is too deep it can be a bit of a challenge (especially to reattach after the repair) I used a small piece of foam inside the socket to make it more shallow.

5) pull old headbasket assemble away from mic body carefully (wires will be attached)

6) unscrew the 4 screws around bottom of assembly, be sure to take note of orientation, especially for ground screw.

7) gently remove headbasket and wipe any dust off mic capsule.

8) slide on new headbasket

9) reverse all instructions and enjoy your “new” microphone.
