The Rolling Stones, “Tumbling Dice” guitar lesson. Today we’re using a Lovepedal Tweed Twin to add a rich overdrive to the Tele’s neck pickup. Like many riffs from Keith, the tuning for Tumbling Dice starts in open G but shifts to B with a capo on the 4th fret. Using a capo allows for more open strings to be used, which adds to the jangly sound of the opening riff. Keith Richards lends his famous combination of one finger and suspended chords to the pre-chorus while the chorus employs more bluesy pulloffs with open strings in a similar fashion to the opening riff. Furthermore, the Lovepedal Tweed Twin overdrive with a medium gain setting adds an old school flavor to the neck pickup without flubbing out or losing important string definition. Enjoy your daily guitar lesson.
