Andrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers questions from off of his Guitar Blog website…

Q). I’m 58 years old with years of blues rhythm behind me, but now I want to play blues licks. My problem is, I’m real bad with my pinky finger, and I’m not too great with my ring finger either. My index and middle fingers are alright. Taking all this into consideration, can you show some licks that could be played with mainly just the index and middle fingers? And, keep them in a basic blues style.

A). A lot of guitar players (who’ve played for many years) are functioning from within this exact same standpoint. So, I’m going to demonstrate some two-finger blues licks that should help guitar players out there who are dealing with the same problem. These basic blues licks I’ve created, will get some lead runs started for guitarists who favor their index and middle fingers. And, with continued persistence those other fingers should also begin to get more and more dexterity & co-ordination as time goes on. Enjoy!
