Understanding The Major Scale Is Key To Better Slide Guitar Playing

In this Quick Lesson I demonstrate how learning the Major Scale horizontally on one string will help you with your slide playing. Droning an open E, you can use that to guide your slide pitch and get your ear and muscle memory locked in. Every great slide player will tell you this is one of the first things you should do after picking up a slide. I’ve chosen to do this in Standard Tuning, but this idea would work with any tuning in any key. Heck this would work on a Ukulele if given the chance. Regardless I hope this inspires you to play your slide or maybe even pick one up if you’re thinking about getting greasy. Either way I hope you enjoyed this lesson, and thank you again for checking me out.
