Let’s talk about slide guitar, specifically open tunings. Arguably one of the most challenging guitar techniques. It’s difficult to learn and even harder to master.

Today, I want to make this demanding technique a little easier. Nothing is more frustrating than wanting to learn something and find out the learning curve is extremely high. Let’s level out that curve by discussing open tunings.

Not all slide guitar is played on open tunings, but a lot of the greats like Keith Richards, Billy Gibbons, Duane Allman, and Derek Trucks use open tunings. And if that list isn’t enough to convince you to change up your tunings, hopefully, this will. Open tuning makes playing slide 10x easier!
