I could go on forever with my praise for this man … he has affected so many of us … especially those of us striving to learn this crazy instrument we call Guitar. Larry has introduced so many of us to everything from advanced Harmonic possibilities to the mastering of great dynamic and tonal control. Many of us were first introduced to the amazing Gibson ES 335 and Dumble amps when we heard Larry’s beautifully sophisticated tone.

As for this Guitar Lesson … we are going to Breakdown my personal absolute favorite Blues Guitar Solo ever! This is a song from Larry Carlton’s Last Nite Album which is a live recording at the famous Baked Potato. If you do not own this CD … GO RIGHT NOW AND BUY IT! Seriously … this is my desert island CD … if I could have only one CD … it would be this one!

My whole musical direction change when I first heard this CD … I Learned so many new Harmonic possibilities … and this CD began my quest for such a dynamic and responsive tone (which I’m still in search of today … but it’s a fun search)! And I still to this day draw upon the ideas and concepts that I Learned from endlessly playing and replaying this cassette tape (yes, i’ve been learning from it for that long).
