  1. If you just learn the A minor pentatonic and incorporate the "blue note" licks like this will start coming naturally to you. Also use a metronome or backing track like he did in this video.

  9. @DRGK9, I like Telecasters, but they are unforgiving guitars, so you may want to think about a Strat or a Les Paul. You can play blues on many guitars. Depending on the flavour of blues you want to play, the amp is much more critical. Fender amps traditionally give you a cleaner sound – AND they magically work well with Fender guitars. I tried a small Egnater combo recently: it blew me away. Bear in mind that a low-wattage (eg., 15W) amp will probably be more sensible than a 100W beast.
