This is a blues guitar lesson for beginners… if you can already play pretty well this will probably be really easy, but you still may find something new that you dig on.

The situation is this… you find yourself playing with a buddy. It’s just the two of you, no band, and you’re just going to play some guitar. What do you play?

Inevitably, the standard “Blues In E” comes up and one person plays rhythm while the other plays a lead, then you switch. Typically each person takes 2 choruses.

I started something of a series with a previous video that talks about the rhythm, it’s at: https://youtu.be/D0ai79pDIy4

Assuming you can play that, this will get you started on some basic blues soloing techniques and ideas.

Ideally, the solos will come from you, not just some licks you learned and memorized. In the long term, it’s more fun for you because you’re not reliant on not forgetting those licks and ideas.

But, of course, I still gave you some to work with… mostly to show you how this might play out.

I hope you dig this lesson and if you want the TAB you can visit my blog at http://bluesguitarunleashed.com/blog/blues-with-a-buddy-soloing-1 to download it.
