  5. This fingerpicking is just so hard for me cuz I played with a pick my whole life. I am so frustrated. I wish I woould have learned fingerstyle guitar first before learning with a pick because people who don’t play guitar often think fingerpicking sounds more complex and they are impressed by it.

  7. It’s an old 1920s Regal Parlor Acoustic Guitar.. made in Chicago. Not pretty but plays well.

  17. Great lesson. Can’t wait to get out to my shop and start praticing it. I do think I will break down and buy a metronome. Keeping that base note will be a challenge!
    Thanks and keep it up

  21. Thank you, Brian. This is a great lesson, really well presented and explained.

It’s amazing how this delta style, while not being all that technically difficult, is still quite challenging to capture the right feel and execute well. Sometimes I think it would be easier to learn how to shred than to learn this kind of stuff.

  23. Great lesson Brian as always… I’m still playing Stormy Monday using the 9th chords you taught me, although it may not be the exact same way you play it.
