Eric Clapton plays Love In Vain by Robert Johnson

  1. I’m not gonna keep defending Clapton because I honestly don’t know much about politics as a whole and I’m not gonna pretend I do. I found the TV interview and he more or less avoided it only claiming that "It wasn’t a racial thing".

  2. If you mean different in his views on race, I don’t think so. In a magazine interview in 2004, Clapton commented on his infamous ’76 rant and said that his view on the matter "hasn’t changed" and believes that Powell was "outrageously brave" and misunderstood. According to wikipedia, he again reiterated support for Powell on t.v. in 2007.

  3. This old man you see now is a different man, just give him a chance.

  4. Sorry, but no one asked for your opinion, even though it’s mostly wrong. Clapton’s most famous RJ cover is Crossroads, which sounds NOTHING like the original. If he wanted to OWN the song he could have but that’s not the point, this is a tribute album.
And Eric has changed since the mid 70’s. In case you didn’t know, that was more than 30 years ago, from the man who wouldn’t play with Jeff Beck cause he hated him. Why? Cause Beck was better.
Now? They just toured together for almost 2 years.

  5. I love that 1 of maybe 3 pictures of Johnson is there in the background, smoking.

  6. I was wondering when there would be a response like this. You’ve got to realize how hard it is to feel insulted by someone who knows nothing about you except your username. A username is not much of a thing to determine a person’s musical knowledge by —- not that ‘not knowing anything about music’ means much more than being a euphemism for ‘not sharing one’s taste’

  7. i didnt know anyone woould not love the blues! ur so yuong u must of herd it home. it isthe heart music patty ia

  8. it’s almost like saying red sucks because blue is better. They’re different.

  9. Sorry, but what a douche. He tries to sound as much like Robert Johnson as possible. It’s no better than all kids singing Dylan covers at open mics and trying to fake a voice and sound like Dylan. Clapton is worse in the sense that he sings the blues while his political hero is Enoch Powell.

  10. mr clap you give a lot for the fiyhties generation and the next you gave a lot for the blues my congratulations

  11. i love it, iam a shamed that somedy was bringin me this dvd from rushen some years ago. i love it.best jam ever,. the musik i lovew. clapton did something with it, its soo incredible, how a man can do something like this. i also play the guitare.and hes forever my hero, nothing in this worl can come like clapton dooin this. this dvd is a masterpice, and more than that. 12. Anyone else notice that picture of Robert Johnson in the background at 1:57?
I don’t usually like Clapton. Good to see him exposing real blues though.

  13. it’s mostly ignorant people who do that kind of comparison. According to them "X is my favorite musician, thus he’s the best of all."

  14. Clapton is the name, the feeling, the soul, the best guitar player in the world…It"s Clapton,,,,,just clapton….!!
