Original heavy alternative rock. This is a very angry song. It’s about frustration with the daily struggle and grind of survival trying to earn an honest living in the surrounding world. It’s about feeling trapped and shouldering a burden that we are born into without a choice, an unwanted debt to society that we are expected to pay. Society commands us to work, pay taxes, and not be a burden to the rest of the world by abusing the public welfare system or using the generosity of others to pay our debt for us. We often get nowhere by trying to live honestly while playing by the rules. Sometimes life is like digging in sand. Every time a shovel load is removed, the hole fills back in. In addition, it’s about resenting politics, popularity contests, social cliques, being surrounded by those who are undependable, unmotivated, or just plain idiots. Sometimes it’s difficult not to erupt! Death is the easy way out, but not necessarily the desired way to finally attain relief and ultimately escape it all. Lyrics are not my specialty. Most of what I have to say isn’t palatable, pleasant to listen to, or worthy of even being put to music. This is a pristine example of that. I’d rather let the mood of the music speak instead and spare the world any more of that unwanted dribble. For more original clips, see the playlist “Original music clips by Marc ‘Tex’ Wilson.”
