  1. nice playing! I like the backing vocals in the last few seconds of the video. Good luck!

  2. man you got to learn to breathe, this is not blues imo of 40 years of playing
try a telecaster, plug it straight into a Fender amp – it will make you honest
think like a sax player and you will discover your voice…. Peace

  3. The contest supplied JB tracks (minus vocals) to choose from. There were a number "blues rock" (?) type of tracks and less "12 bar" blues tracks I grew up playing. It looks like there could be a debate about JB music in terms of what "blues" means. At any rate, this is just the first round and if I go further I would consider if there is a more typical "12 bar" as option to use since I agree with a number of points here.

  4. IMO you should use a different backing track Brad. It’s obvious that you have some outstanding chops. They just don’t sound very bluesy against that particular track. It sounds more like (some really good) modern country. Still great stuff though man! I came from your Craig’s List ad by the way. Good luck bro!

  5. I don’t know much about music, but your living room is elegantly appointed without defeating a sincere invitation to settle in and comfortably chill. Nicely done.

  6. YOU ARE NOT A BLUES MAN ~ THESE ARE NOT BLUES TRACKS ~ IF JOE BUNCHANOTESSA WOULD EVER SLOW DOWN MABEY HE COULD BE A BLUES MAN , BUT HE WON’T. NEXT TIME GET JR. WATSON ~ LARRY TAYLOR ~ RICHARD INNESS & GENE TAYLOR TO LAY DOWN SOME TRACKS …

  7. I agree with some comments about the back tracks and its more new country not blues. Also you have no dynamics. Play with the band and flow into sustained screams. just my thoughts. (40 some years in the buisiness) good luck.

  8. more of a southern rock flav….and where is your guitar face? IMHO you need a backing track that allows some space for lead and to show off rythym/shuffle chops. Good on you though…putting it out there.

  9. Honestly–very typical. CREATIVITY BECOMES INDIVIDUALITY. Your backing track needs to be toned WAY down. Suggestions–more space–more articulation–nuance–and most of all hear and play the DYNAMICS–repetitive note playing —becomes monotone. Not BLUES to my ear.

  10. Not bad. The back up needs a re mix . Need to bring your lead up a couple of d.b’s so you up on top of the track. Not a whole lot but just a tad. Otherwise yeah it rocks. Think Joe would approve.
