Here is Lap Slide Lesson of how to play Hey Joe – This lesson is loosely based on the Jimi Hendrix version. The song is Open D Tuning For this song lesson I have transposed the original song down a whole tone to so as it would work in Open D Tuning. The reason for doing this is because to play the song in the same key as Hendrix did you would have to use Open E Tuning but you cant use Open E tuning on an acoustic lap slide as it would put to much tension and stress on the instrument.
