Isn’t this the same as D A D F# A D except a whole step up?

I’ve changed my mind. raising the tune-o-matic a bit and using thicker gauge strings (which probably impart a bit more neck relief without touching the truss rod) did the trick. Since I want to be able to fret notes with my fingers too, I’m not shimming the nut. That would put the action in square-neck Dobro territory.

So the slide doesn’t rattle on the frets, of course
I not only raised my bridge, I’m going to shim the nut before all is said and done.

Thanks for taking the time to post a lesson. Not sure why you’d raise the action when tuning up. That may be the case when tuning down to open G [Es to Ds and A to G]
