Hey I’m re-learning A LOT of stuff I forgot on guitar and for open D tuning yours was the best!!! 🙂 I always loved Elmore James’ "Dust my broom" now I am ready to try it:) again, if I can find a beer bottle or my slide I will record it on my cheap vid cam!!!! Thanks bro!

Marty kind of laughed it off when he played the standard tuning D chord shape, but you can do a lot with that, and a lot of other standard tuning chord shapes when you’re in open D. It’s a great tuning and not just for blues type things. You can get some nice Middle Eastern sounds out of it, too. Check "Rosetta West – Morning Star."

If you are going for a blues slide sound what type of guitar is the best. My friend and some sites were recommending a resonator, but all the videos I seen that I enjoyed were acoustic.
