  1. i´m a rookie… when playing 5th and 3rd frets, you press 5 strings on 5th and 4 on 3rd, playing all of them, is that correct?

  3. Thanks man! Yes, I did replace the stock pickups (several times in fact). The bridge is a Seymour Duncan Broadcaster and the neck humbucker is a Seymour Duncan ’59n. These pickups are never leaving this guitar. I have a limited edition ’52 Tele in another of my videos, and this guitar sounds very similar. This one is like an old war horse – it’s been with me forever and I still play it often. Like slipping on an old pair of boots – just feels right.

  5. I echo the previous compliment- love that tone! I have a Tele identical to the one you’re playing; 90’s MIM, humbucker in bridge, even same colour and finish, also heavily modified but it doesn’t sound near as nice as yours. Been tempted to get rid of it because I’m so frustrated with my tone, then I saw your above video and nearly wept. May I ask, did you replace the stock pickups? If so, with what? As for Keith solo stuff….how about Take It So Hard? Thanks in advance- cheers mate!

  7. I remove the 6th string because a) it’s easier to play in open G that way, and b) that’s how Keith does it. You pretty much never play that 6th string in this tuning so it’s just in the way. Since this isn’t my only guitar I don’t need to worry about putting it back into standard tuning to play other songs – I just have it dedicated to playing in open G 100{10faa3092bae83cdf963b1ab1025701434ba1e012413cb9c0c72be0a479389c3} of the time.

  9. Is there any reason you don’t have a low E string on your guitar. Is This On Purpose. Oh Yea, This Is The Best Version On The Web. Been Looking For The Right Way to Play This Song & The Whole Time I Was Playing It right, But With The Low E String. I Would Just Mute It. Got To Try It Without It. Probably Easier This Way. Thanks O 1000 Times Over.

  13. Mick Taylor played it in Standard tuning during 1969-1974, I liked his way the best. Great cover of Keiths way of playing. Im not a fan of Open G and I know thats all Keith does for the most part. I enjoyed the vid, rock on!
