@nirvanafreak1294 Did you really think that a grown man who makes his living playing guitar would be playing an Epiphone fake SG in his videos?

E-B-E-G♯-B-E

D-A-D-F♯-A-D (lower open D)
same thing essentially

1,2,3,4,5,6 = from tiny string to fat string, EBG#EBE. Also, you can play in any Key in Open E tuning but you might not be able to play the string Open, which isnt a big deal if you have an SG but for a resonator or acoustic playing in all of the keys on open E can be more restrictive.

this is cool and very useful for those people who cant get what he’s playing just watch where his slide is thats the only way to figure out what he’s playing cause he doesn’t quite go into detail.
ps. do you have tips about slide harmonics

He uses the end of his pointer like a pick, too sometimes. I play the same way, and i was always worried i was getting into a bad habit, so i’m glad i found that someone of trucks’s musical stature played the same way.

Some of us are looking for advanced techniques. I would say that I have much more problems sorting through the "how to palm mute" lessons than you would have sorting through the advanced stuff. Maybe someday come back and look at this. Also, I’ll add: Don’t be such a jerk, watch your language, and appreciate the fact that there are excellent guitarist trying to help the beginners out. Try boolean operators in your next search (beginner lessons NOT advanced). Stay in school. Peace

i’m sorry. But this video wasnt much help for me. Thats the problem with most videos on Youtube. You dont take into consideration that most of us are a bit simple. You need to verbalise what it is you’re doing! And SLOW THE FCUK DOWN! Zoom up and show each note and explain what your looking for. Still, i very much appreciate what your doing. But try and teach more, instead of just showing. =)

sweet stuff man. have you tried not putting the slide so far on your finger? if you haven’t it might be good to try. i used to put it really far on my finger like you, and then i tried not putting it past the big knuckle on my finger and i ended up like it a lot more. it definitely gave me a lot more touch without having to have as much movement with my whole hand. and it didn’t take long to get used to the different feel
