More Sunday afternoon noodling, this time on a recently finished/ongoing project. It’s tuned to open D and is strung with .015-.056 gauge D’Addarios.
I bought this ’00 Squier Bullet hardtail used about eight years ago and have been changing stuff on it ever since. Ironically, it has a lot of its original hardware reinstated in its current form. Notable modifications include the wiring, which is a single neck pickup from a Fender U.S. Standard Strat wired to 250k Alpha pots with a “50’s style” tone circuit and a more midrange-heavy .01 cap. I also just finished making a lap steel-style saddle for it out of a piece of 5/16″ square steel rod. It’s held in place by string tension against the front two bridge mounting screws and is a great improvement over the original rattle-prone saddles.
