Lesson 2 with another little ditty in Drop D, have fun jamming with it. Its a self penned composition. Freight Train Blues. Tabs are available at www.maxmilligan.co.uk
Yep, Drop D tuning is D A D G B E low to high. Open D gives you a D chord when strummed open. D A D F# A D low to high. :o) check out my open D lessons too. :o) Max

Hi yes the chord sequence has the same formula. It’s a common country blues pattern. The melody is different to the song. Very funny it is too. Many thanks :o)

Nice job! I’m just learning open D tuning and I really liked your licks – especially the lick just before the A chord on your resolve. As I was playing your song, I realized I had heard it before. Your tune is the same as "Elma Turl" a comic song by Mike Cross, which he recorded many years ago. There are several hits of it on YouTube.

Really great feel to this song thank you. Bar 12 (of 16) could be more of a dischord instead of a repeat of bar 4 (how about a slide from high E fret 4 to fret 3?). Okay, enough criticism, greatly apperciate the post and speed of teaching.

Great lesson! I’m looking forward to playing this. I also enjoyed your blues solo lesson in E.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I see that you use Maton guitars, you make a fine sound with them.
