Sound like a Pro over a 12 bar blues!

In this video I demonstrate 3 different approaches for playing over the changes of a 12 bar blues. This lesson is not aimed at an absolute beginner who is just learning their first chords; but rather a beginner who can play the minor pentatonic scale but struggles to know how to use this scale to effectively play over the IV and V chords (a.k.a the 4 chord and the 5 chord). These are simple techniques that will have you sounding like a pro!

*** IMPORTANT CORRECTION***
In Lick 1, the note on the top E string should be a G at the 3rd fret, not an A at the 5th fret as shown in the TAB. Here’s what the Tab should be for Lick 1:
Lick 1
E|————3——————6b—
B|———————s8—————
G|—5b7——————————
D|——————————————
A|——————————————
E|——————————————

The lesson is played over a 12 bar blues in the key of G, so the chord are G7, C7 and D7 (G7 is the Root or the I chord; C7 is the IV chord / 4 chord; and D7 is the V chord / 5 chord).

For each of the 3 techniques, the video describes the technique; then gives an example over the backing track; then teaches the licks from the example. In total, the whole lesson includes teaching 15 blues licks for minor pentatonic.

If you would like a copy of the tab, then just send me an email to marcellison75@gmail.com and I’ll reply with the tab attached. Please state in the email that you want the tab for “Playing over the changes with Minor Pentatonic”.
