I installed a Lace single coil resonator pickup in my Johnson Resonator, and decided to record an original slide blues-backing track, so I could practice my harmonica playing (which needs a lot of work). Its a basic I-IV-V blues progression with a simple turn in the Key of G. I recorded and mixed 5 tracks on my Tascam DP-004 multi-track recorder. Two Resonator Tracks in Open G, one rhythm and one with a slide thru a Peavey Delta Blues 1×15, a bass track using my Peavey Millennium BXP Bass thru a GK Backline 110, a harmonica track using a Hohner Special 20 in the key of C thru a Peavey Delta Blues Amp, and an 84 bpm drum track on an Alesis SR-16. The first video clip is of the slide scratch track and it doesnt line up perfectly, so dont beat on me too bad about that. The other video clips are of the actual recordings of the bass and rhythm tracks. The final video is laid over the final mixed audio track. Thanks for Watching. 1. Hello

Request permission to post my music composed in tribute to the great slide guitars masters

  2. – Many Thanks, I still have a long way to go, but I love the challenge.

  3. This must be one of best sounding slow blues on slide guitar. The tone and mixing is great. Be grateful if you could take look at the slow blues on my channel and offer any comments to help me along. Thanks.

  4. – I like it slow and surupy! Those strings are D’Addario Resonator EJ42’s 16 guage.

  5. Nice guitar sound. I’d like to here this with a couple cups of coffee in you cause it’s draggin. Can you tell me what strings you are using? Thanks for sharing!

  6. – I sometimes play stripped bare, it’s not a pretty sight.

  7. Dude some nice playing there….

be intersted to see how you carry that guitar without all that backing …..

just you and the guitar stripped bare…..

  8. @williamkenupp – Thank You William. You are the master when it comes to multitrack recording and compostion.

  9. @LastForte – Glad you enjoy them. I am working on a few more backing tracks in the Key of D. When I get time I will post them. Thanks for the comment.

  10. Thanks for the kind words. I get a kick out of learning how to play with the slide. So much to learn and so little time.

  11. love this, reminds me a good friend i knew when i was growing up, he was olderv though he played this bottleneck green kinda blues, excellent

  12. Hey, Scotty coming up here to check out some of your vids again….my Lord, you can play! Wish I could play like this, haha. I am so new to the guitar, but I do my best. Thanks so much for the nice comment you left on my song page, and five stars to you for this EXCELLENT performance! 🙂

  13. I don’t think it’ll ever sound like a cone pickup. I’ve just had it in a week, and I’m still putting it thru it’s paces at this point. It can get a little noisy like any single coil pickup can. I just needed to be able to record without using a mic, and this does the trick. I did run it thru a Boss CS-3 compressor, and a Boss GE-7 EQ and a Boss NS-2 noise supressor when I recorded this.

  14. Thank You. The harp is a work in progress, but it’s fun to play.

  15. Great stuff Scott Lovely bit of slide man love the harp to 10/10…Jake
