    The best solution for no "Hissy "Sound is to use "ELIXIR STRINGS" (best brand for that) and to use a TRIBOTONE tone bar (I think it’s only available on their website) then you will be happy.

    Thanks man, I have had a lot of bad experiances with D’addario. It seems to me they break really easily. I like Martins a lot I’ll try out SP’s when I next change my strings. As for that hissing sound I REALLY don’t want that…. what brands would get ride of that??

    Well myself I use "Light gauge" strings BUT I replace the thin D string from a 11 to a 12. A lot of brands are cool, I mostly use D’addario (Custom Light) and Martin SP. Try different brands and you’ll find your style. It depends too if you like and want the "Hiss" sounds made by the tone bar. Some strings offer a shape that could delete these kind of "hiss"…
    Anyway : take your guitar and have fun!!!

    thanks man, i just picked up a dobro steal resonator guitar. could you maybe recomend some strings. my only other acoustic is a simon and patrick 12 string so i just put light martins on it but i want some really heavy bluesy strings for this guitar, i’d certianly do some research on any brand you’d advise me

    I do not want you to take it bad, but if our music is free to listen, we do not attempt from other people to use it.
