Let’s lead off the 2024 with some nice tips about saving the time and energy when playing slide guitar.
I’ll show you exactly what to avoid and what to concentrate on.
Let’s say you’ll be getting the first 2-3 slide lessons fror free – if you were to hire a teacher..
Did I hear “I’ll start with that next year” as a New Year’s resolution?
So, it’s January the very 1st and.. lets’ go!

Today – back to basics of slide guitar playing. Yes. Again.
It’s important.
As a bonus – we’ll also add some fingerstyle backup to the slided notes.

Being inspired by piano playing of my good friend David Hunte, I’ll show you the easy arrangement of an old spiritual “Glory Glory, When I Lay My Burden Down”.
There are many meanings of these lyrics, they’re deep and inspire, but that burden can be of many kinds.
Let’s take it the light way today – and lay the slide technique burden down, you up for it?

Prior to watching my Blue Monday Livestreams every Monday at 9pm CEST which is:
12pm PST / 2pm CST / 3pm EST / 8pm GMT (London) / 7am AEDT (Sidney), watch this video:

– I’m explaining here how to tune your guitar to Open G and Open D tunings
– Learn the basics of fingerpicking technique – alternate bass playing
– Learn the basics of slide technique

This video is very basic and I’ll be uploading more detailed content about each of the techniques mentioned later on. The topics in this video are meant to prepare you for my livestreams where I’m using standard tuning, Open G, Open D, I’m playing slide and fingerpicking.
The whole idea of BLUE MONDAY Livestreams is to provide solid and professional live backup to your soloing, maybe just hanging with my rhythm, chord shapes and learning as we go.
I’ll always be explaining what and how I played, there are several sections during the one hour livestream:
– Solid backup for your guitar playing (in every livestream)
– Artist in focus (in selected livestreams)
– Lick Of The Week (explained in detail)
– Special guests (in selected livestreams)
– Q&A

I’m running an annual Guitar Retreat IRL at the Island Of Ven in southern Sweden.
