  1. I took guitar lessons a few years ago and then stopped due to how I wasn’t taking it seriously enough.I still try playing it when I can and I have a hard time with chords. My hands are small for my age considering I am almost done growingand evryone seems tohave larger hands than I.I can’t play chords due to this because my fingers hit strings they aren’t supposed to and I can’t curvethem up toavoid this.can you play witha regular guitar in your lap likethis or doyou have too have a secial kind?

  2. I like your rings on your fingers, I have started lap (Weiseenborn) just recently and from now on I’ll be wearing the same rings as you do…!!!

  3. Very nicely done.

I used to have a lap guitar as a kid. I remember the tuning on mine as 5th, 7th, 5th, 4th, 3rd frets for the 5th through 1st strings respectively. The 6th string was as deep as I can get without distortion.

What kind of tuning would that be?

  4. yes it should be, but he drops the high e down to a d. I got this video and it is great.

  5. yeah mate you can use any tuning on any guitar as long as each string is not so loose that it buzzes or so tight that it bends the neck or breaks the stings. it all comes down to the scale length of the guitar and the guage of the strings. c tuning shouldnt be a drama on any guitar.

  6. Wow, off I go to buy a Weissenborn copy and I just purchased the instructional DVD from Doug Cox’s site, great material on learnrootsmusic if you have never visited it. Thanks for the inspiration Steve.
