  1. Excellent lesson. Took me quite a few years to work this out but you lay it out beautifully here. I still have never quite figured out Keef’s comping as Mick takes the outro solo. It’s funny because a few weeks later they alter it somewhat at Altamont. To my mind, the greatest version of this song.

  2. These lessons are great Priv appreciate it… not sure if you listen to My Morning Jacket but a lesson of Run Thru would be nice. My ear is having trouble figuring out some of the sections…

  3. Great lesson as usual. How about a lesson or just play Mercy Mercy Rolling Stone version Keith and Brian playing a Jimi Hendrix riff.

  4. GREAT VIDEO EVER!!!!!!!!!
BUT please tell me how I tune my guitar from EADGBE for this song because when i did it with the standard tuning, it didn’t sound like that .

  5. Heh PT: Great job. Of course art is subjective, but here’s my take on this song. It is one of the quintessential songs of Rock N’ Roll. This is because it starts out with the simple EAD chords, while Keith is building to his Chuck Berry style solo. Then Mick (the blues rock player) with fantastic phrasing takes Keith’s solo to another level (not to diminish Keith’s expertise) . Mick builds up to another solo. 3 styles of rock – the basic ead chords, CB, and Blues/Rock Add 4 – Keith!

  6. This will be one of your greatest hits! Thanks for this! Awesome!

  7. Good advice at the start,Practice til you can do it!!!!

  8. I sent you an e mail check it out and tell me what you think. Dont get me wrong love your vids and playing.

  9. Hey Privetricker, ignore the Negative Nabobs. You have done another great video. Regarding the key, just look at the Rolling Stones "One Plus One Pt 1" video on YouTube, where you can clearly see Brian, Keith and Mike starting to work the tune out in E. Personally I think it’s a work of total creative genius and Keith’s solo incredible, and among the greatest every recorded in the history of rock and roll. I think the recorded version is definitive but live is superb as well.

  10. It doesn’t get any better for me. Stones and Zeppelin and ya ya’s my favorite live album. Can you please give a tutorial on Keith’s full solo? Thank you for this.

  11. I know you meant it as a joke. But once that gets posted, we’ll get dozens of people agreeing with you!

  12. Nicely done PT.These lessons are worth more than many a "million miles an hour" shreds.
