proguitarshop.com – The TC Electronic Polytune is the new kid on the block in pedal tuner technology. Featuring a patented polychromatic tuning circuit, the TC Electronic Polytune eliminates the need to go string to string while tuning. Just turn it on for silent tuning (muted output) and strum all of your open strings and the TC Electronic Polytune shows you which strings are sharp or flat and allows you to tune within +- .5{10faa3092bae83cdf963b1ab1025701434ba1e012413cb9c0c72be0a479389c3} accuracy. This eliminates a good chunk of time when tuning between songs and lets people visually see the affect of say a floating bridge when tuning string to string. Not only does this help get a grasp on tuning your instrument effectively, it lets you know right away what string is out of tune. The TC Electronic Polytune features a standard chromatic tuner as well that is super fast and reliable thanks to the unique tuning magnet feature. This allows the TC Electronic Polytune to adjust the speed of the tuning needle dependant on how close or far away you are from pitch.
its a shame with so powerfull dsp’s nowdays this tuner can only do drop D tuning….do all possible 6-strings drop tunings and then call it a feature!!
I kinda wish this could handle drop Bb.
Can it handle flat tunings? I tune to half step a lot. and I need a pedal that can do that, Eb, Ab, etc…..
only andy could make a 3minute demo on a tuner
Sounds amazing.
How much power does this eat?
every one else should just give up tc obviously has this tuner and pedal thing down pat im getting mine soon
what power supply do you need for it? voltage/amps
Big question for me as well! What I would do is tune the standard 6 strings, then individually tune the low B for the 7 string layout. You’ll have to double check the other strings again if you’re using a floating tremolo.
"First in the chain" means that the pedal should be the FIRST ONE in your CHAIN OF PEDALS.
For example, if you bought 30 pedals from PGS the first one should be the tuner, as all tuners should be "first in the chain".
can use it with a 7 or 8 string guitar?
Excellent !!

‘first-in-chain’ usualy means the first pedal after your guitar
Can someone answer me this? Everyone is talking about "first in the chain" and stuff. But idk what that means. Does that mean the first from the amp? As in: Amp -> Pedal -> Guitar. Or the other way around?
This seems to be one of the best or maybe the best tuner on the market right now. And i saw on TC Electronics homepage that they’re going to release the software for Drop D-tuning soon.
can this do silent tune?
…does this pedal not Silent-Tune?
Just got this thing and it’s great!

Andy, do you know if I can use it with a 7 string guitar? Thanks!

yeah… andy should do a demo using his pedalboard.. we might learn a lot from it..
