Hello all,
This is the follow-on lesson from my Blues lesson series called “Blues Boxs” found here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxLLcgoIHOo&list=PLDBd2z7lZ-up2rDRdvsLZmSVzNoWt0OYR&index=3
If you are new to the Blues scale I suggest you check out the above video or my full “Playing the Blues playlist” on my to get the basic full shapes under your fingers before looking at the following 2 string Blues guitar patterns and Licks lessons.
In this video we will again be looking at the Blues scale but focusing on playing even smaller patterns over groups of 2 strings.
The idea behind this 2 string approach is to train your ears to the individual sounds of the Blues scale e.g the intervals and colours that create “The Blues” sound. The notes have been colour coded to represent each of these sounds on the fretboard to help with this learning process.
The video includes some play along basic Blues Guitar licks and a demo solo that you don’t need to read music or even guitar TAB to play along with – Just follow the target note and the instructions in the video and I will get you soloing the Blues scale fast.
Play along with the instructions on the video and take your time to really get the patterns under your fingers cleanly. For beginner and intermediate Guitarists these shapes can take your Blues knowledge and playing to the next level.
I hope you find joy in using these resources for students and teachers alike.
Jam on
Todd
