  1. Can’t believe this is the first time I’ve ever listened to a Rolling Stones album.. oh what I’ve missed out on!

  4. Some odd things about early Stones albums: so many releases coming out in one year, up to four or five because of US / UK releases. Plus the album titles were pretty lame: 12 x5; England’s Newest Hit Makers; Out of Our Heads; Between the Buttons. Really? lol Good to see the boys finally getting control away from rec. companies.

  10. Dylan does have a distinctive and very recognizable voice. It’s sad that Ray Davies voice isn’t what it used to be. I saw the Kinks live in 1971. It was a great concert. In 1970 I saw The Who and Mott The Hoople was the opening act. One of the best concerts ever. And seeing Blind Faith in 1969 was phenomenal. I’m a big Kinks fan but like their albums in the 60’s and early 70’s. Face To Face, Something Else, The Village Green Preservation Society and Arthur are my favorites. Long live the Kinks.

  13. You notice the decline in McCartney’s voice more than Dylan because old Bob didn’t have a great voice to begin with, just a distinctive and expressive voice. Watching the Olympic’s closing ceremony last August, Roger Daltrey sang as well as ever, great to hear, however Ray Davies’ voice was well in decline sadly.

  16. One thing I have to say about McCartney is that he always sings his songs in the key that they were written in – no matter what. He’s over 70 years old and he still gives his all when he performs. Yeah, Dylan is great. His voice is shot but his music and words will stand the test of time.

  19. exactly…from what I’ve seen of the Stones live on video in recent years they come across as a little sloppy, almost an arrogance that we the public are in the divine presence…not the stuff of angry rebels, whereas McCartney despite his worn out vocals plays his heart out, but Dylan would be the one of the three I’d pay to see again….playing anywhere anybody wants to see him for a fair price..I paid $65 to see him in 1998 when he could have charged double that and still fill the hall.

  22. I wouldn’t pay a fraction of that to hear the Strolling Bones. Yes, the Beatles were great with love songs but could also put out some great hard rocking rock songs like on the White Album.

  28. Lady Jane is a LOVE song? or a lost LOVE? The Stones’s answer to ‘Norwegian Wood ‘ (a song of a lost LOVE) released the year before?
Leave the LOVE songs for the Beatles…I agree..who did the LOVE songs better?….the Stones couldn’t overtake the Beatles until the Beatles called it a day in early 1970…now in 2013 there is so little LOVE for their fans (charging upwards of $500 a ticket I hear).

  34. During the spring of 1966, my parents took a weekend eighteenth wedding anniversary visit to New York City, returning home with a surprise package containing two Rolling Stones albums "Aftermath" and "Out of Our Heads". My parents we’re both generous and very cool.
