A great way to practice slide guitar is to see if you can trace out a vocal melody. The slide lends itself so well to imitating the bluesy swoops and bends that lead singers do so intuitively.
Of course, things get a little more interesting when you combine the chords and add little Ry Cooder-esque fills to the pot.
