The Myth of the Mixolydian Blues.
A Lot of Guitar Teachers teach a method of Playing JUST the Mixolydian Scale in your blues. This method doesn’t really work as it pulls a guitar player away from the chords, and shifts their brains to the scale. In order to play completely, you NEED to know which notes to use in context to the chords being played. When we do this, we get what looks like a monster scale (Blues Trick #3 Video) This scale to some is known as a “Mixolydian Blues Scale” which is not a Myth.
What is a Myth is that applying just a Mixolydian over your blues progression will solve things. Here we are addressing how to get the Major Sound associated with a Mixolydian Scale, but get it with the correct mindset. Rock on!
