This slide guitar lesson is in open G tuning [D G D G B D] and will feature a capo at the fifth fret.

While learning this song, we should expect to repeat all parts of the piece of music until we are comfortable playing it. You may find that a blister shows up on your picking hand thumb. If this happens, don’t worry. Once the blister subsides, a nice callus will appear. The callus will actually improve your tone and make your sound a little brighter.
Things to remember while playing slide guitar: 1) accurately place your slide directly over the fret for the sake of good intonation 2) press the slide firmly against the string set so as to make a good connection with the strings, 3) do not press the slide against the string set with so much pressure that you “fret out” the strings.
