The Beatles recorded this in EMI Studio Two’s annexe- basically a large closet beside the control room. Ringo affectionately recalled how they felt like a good old rock band again, playing in a small space live. I used some short room reverb (Altiverb kitchen reverb plug-in) to replicate this short slapback sound
Tape flanging and double-tracking was used heavily on both solos for this song by the EMI engineers. I used my Strymon Deco tape saturation and double-tracker pedal on John’s solo to replicate this
George’s solo contains even more extreme tape flanging- a fast wobbly vibrato. My Deco pedal can’t do a fast vibrato, so I used my Analogman Bi-Chorus pedal on a fast setting to get that wobble heard on his solo!
