  1. you should also try out some open D and open G tunings with the picking patterns mentioned here, all those open strings sound glorious with a full band sound. the best hill-country blues bands and blues based string bands produced awesome music with techniques like this.

  2. I wish i could play that… I can do the right hand,, the left hand is hard,,,

  3. PIMA means: Pulgar (thumb), Indice (Index), Medio (middle), Annular (ring) and Chico (little)

  4. P I M A C is a common abbreviation used for fingerpicking. Pulgar – thumb. Index – index finger. Middle – middle finger. Annular – ring finger. C – not sure on the name for this, but it’s the little finger.

  5. I agree. I could never ascertain a consistent method for identifying fingers….a basic thing to do when making a film. You can figure it out but it is largely a waste of time when you can watch a decently planned "instructional" video

  6. Nice lesson. I have learned a lot from this and am able to put what I have learned into practice. Thanks! Kind Regards

  7. Thank you… Finally, a great lesson for starting blues guitarist, breaking down what the right hand does first was/is key for me, as I had no idea how to get that rhythm until you did this lesson. I can only imagine that for many blues veterans that this seems trivial, but not if your just starting..

Thanks again, I am a better guitar player today as a result of your lesson.

  8. Me too, i cant stop biting them, i tell myself not to and next thing i know they are gone.

  9. .it all depends on what kind of music youre wanting to play. if your wanting to play crazy guitar leads then you might want to use a pick, but if your wanting to play fingerstyle like in the video then you obviously don’t need one. Most of the time when im strumming songs i don’t use a pick by preference. my advice to you is do whats comfortable, you can’t go wrong! as you progress you’ll be able to use one regardless of whether you used one while learning, it’s not a bad habit.

  10. This video have been very helpful. I used this video on my website fingerstyleguitaronline com

  11. oh man he was strugling they mst of had fun set him up for this 1

  12. to the nail biters. playing with your finger tip is just fine. you have to remember that the finger nail is like having a plectrum(it makes your sound more audible). play however you like and remember there are no rules and just KEEP ON PLAYING. CHEERS!
