The ultimate upgrade for the Audi R8 5.2L FSI V10 comes in the form of an APR ECU Upgrade that downloads an instant 59 extra horsepower and 53 ft-lb of torque to your engine control module. Your R8s engine performance will leapfrog the R8 GT and blow past Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera territory, making this the best dollar per horsepower investment one can make. With 583 horsepower on tap, the R8 V10 screams all the way to redline and does so, as if intended by Audi, thanks to APRs strict adherence to OEM and Tier 1 Supplier specifications for engine component stress tolerances and performance specifications. The secret behind unlocking this level of power lies within the vehicles ECU (Engine Control Unit) as its heavily detuned, from the factory, to prevent the R8 V10 from stepping on the toes of other exotics in the VAG 5.2L FSI V10 lineup. Further tuning from APRs Engineering teams allow for faster acceleration and quicker throttle response through fine-tuning of the Bosch MED9 Engine Management System to extract smooth and reliable power every time you touch the throttle. Available in octane specific calibrations, the APR ECU upgrade is finely tuned for octanes around the world allowing you to take advantage of the fuel quality available in your area. 1. What exhaust is on that R8? No way is stock, sounds epic! At top of rev band when changing gear there is a great noise with the exhaust, does it do this with stock exhausti? s it hitting the limiter?

  2. The stock ECU only allows for the throttle bodies to open 63 or 87{10faa3092bae83cdf963b1ab1025701434ba1e012413cb9c0c72be0a479389c3} (can’t remember which) compared to the 100{10faa3092bae83cdf963b1ab1025701434ba1e012413cb9c0c72be0a479389c3} that Lamborghini does, which this engine is based on.

  3. It’s different piston/rods in the SLS if you get a c63 performance package you have the same motor as the SLS though

  4. Nice vid., did you guys do any testing? That would be a great way to differentiate the products. Everyone sells dyno sheets.
Sell performance gains instead. Pbox or quarter mile would be fun to see.

  5. APR please bless us with rs5 goodies, ecu tune and or blower and a shorter final drive we are dieing!

  6. The first song is Moving Mountains on Two Steps from Hell’s Invincible album. It’s been one of my favorite "epic" albums since they released it, definitely check it out!

  7. Might have to get this extra add on done to my v10! It’s also a manual, but I have the racing exhaust and intake installed, its sitting around 604 right now with a ecu tune aswell, what could i expect to gain from this kit added on?

  9. The software works for vehicles with the R-Tronic gear boxes but we are not modifying the transmission software.

  10. Another example of a ‘de-tuned’ engine is the c63 AMG’s v8. It is the same as the SLS, but has been limited. If you buy a c63 amg, get a nice tune…you have an sls at heart. interesting stuff

  11. I understand what you’re asking, but unfortunately no. The R8 V10 5.2L was tuned differently from the factory compared to the S6/S8 v10 5.2L. They also have some hardware differences that limit power on the S6/S8 model compared to the R8 model. While more power can be had with the software, you unfortunately will not see the same power gains as the R8.

  12. Does this mean there will be a updated tune for S6/S8 V10 5.2L motors? The 20hp chip is a bit too slow but a great product 😉

  13. I love the awesome production quality just for 1 one of your single products. All of your videos are so well done, I’ve probably seen the MaxR trailer like 15 times by now. I’ve put many of your products on my cars so keep up the awesome work. NEVER STOP making awesome trailers for products!
