bluesguitarunleashed.com – In this lesson were going to talk a lot about 116th note strumming, timing and rhythm. To do this Ill use "Mary Had A Little Lamb" as recorded by SRV (pretty much.) A lot of people have asked for me to put a demonstration of my playing it first, then do the lesson. Ive done that here in that I took the demo from the end and put it at the beginning for you. But be aware this can be a little dangerous and heres why – in doing private guitar lessons Ive seen it happen thousands of times where I demonstrate something first, then we work on it in the lesson. What happens is, once Ive played it, your ear will immediately grab on to it and create what it thinks is how that piece of music goes… and it will be wrong. Now as you get better, the amount of wrong goes down, and the amount of work it takes to get over the wrong parts and make them right also goes down. But for beginning and intermediate guitar players without a really killer internal clock it can be really hard to overcome that initial ear reaction to what you hear. So PLEASE count this out as you play it and count out loud like I do. For some reason, and Ill be the first to admit that I dont know what the reason is, counting out loud works a thousand times better than "counting in your head." I know this from experience with hundreds of private students. When they dont count, they mess up. When they count, they play it right. It seems slow and difficult at first, but that just <b>…<b>

WOW.. If you don’t already know how to do a B7 chord.. You are going to be so lost!! Other than that, this is a great lesson! Learning to count is a definite must in this song! Nice way to work on ghost strums! It’s a tough progression but once mastered it is very impressive sounding! Thanks for the tutorial!
ATTENTION!! it sounds a lot more authentic if you use downstrokes only for the first riff ,!!!
