  1. Not any more. Only the current guitar with the dual-coil ceramics is listed.

Original JB Strats were souped-up Pluses with a "humbucking" Gold Lace Sensor Dually in the bridge position, a push/push button to cut the front coil and a huge "baseball bat" neck. Not be confused with the Strat Ultra.

  2. The original JB sig strat specs are on the fender homepage. Youve probably seen that.

Then I found this on a credible site:
"The SCN pickups were a standard equipment feature on the American Deluxe series from 2004 to 2010".

So they’ve been available on fender models at least.

  3. There are rumours saying Jeff’s guitars were fitted with Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups for a while, though I’ve no clear confirmation yet.

  4. I read somewhere that the lsr will only take up to 10s, gaugewise. Fairly sure jeff works up to 11s during tours.

Anyway how is it you know all these gear details – pretty cool.

  5. I think "el Becko" used those Suhr pickups many years before the dual-coil ceramics came into the scene in 1998. He said he was not happy with the lace sensors.

  6. Ok. Then its probably just the signature series thats got the noiseless in them – obviously fender would have to stick with their own product. But thats whats in there. Do you know if he used them earlier and then changed?

  7. Jeff uses custom-wound stacked humbuckers designed by John Suhr.

Additionally, his personal axes are fitted with the old Wilkinson roller nut rather than the LSR found on the Custom Artist signature models.

  8. right. Beck uses the noiseless too. I dunno – to me they always sounded a little thin and sterile but I suppose with a booster and/or the amp cranked its a different story. Nothing wrong with the tone in their hands ;0)

  9. Clapton was not happy with the TBX circuit when he made switch to the Noiseless pickups in 2000. He said the tone was too muddy. His personal guitars use a standard tone pot, so did the Masterbuilt EC Customs.

  10. Clapton signature strat and ts808 Ibanez tube screamer.

  11. You’ll need an active midrange booster to achieve his "Woman Tone". Clapton played his Strats through a Soldano and a Cornish rack. He actually uses Vintage Noiseless pickups with the same boost circuit and the TBX removed.

Amp-wise, he runs his personal guitars through a tweed ’57 Twin reissue and a Leslie cabinet driven by a Marshall JCM800 head.

  12. Brilliant mate…Gonna study this over and over till I get it…You sound great
    Thanks for the help.

  13. STRAT PLUS 1986 ITS A LOVELY GUITAR .

  14. Yep, that’s a strat plus. I love these guitars. I had one in green and her name was "Candy". I miss her so much. She now has a new home in London…lol
