Blues Guitar Lesson at bluesguitarunleashed.com for the rest of the video, the TABS, and the backing track. My goal was to dispel the myth I hear a lot, which is that you need a ton of chops and great licks to sound good playing blues guitar. It can be simple, easy, and fun, while still sounding authentic. In this lesson, I just wanted to show you a simple blues solo without too many fancy licks. Its not that hard to play with a little practice and this can go a long way. youtu.be

  1. thanks for this vid man made me want to play guitar again

  2. thanks for this vid man made me want to play guitar again

  3. thats more than 4 notes… and the chord to scale functions are off as well. playing C over a E7 chord really isnt what most players would call a great note to hit…. i think for blues purposes b13 isnt too hip for the crowd.

  4. excellent guitar playing but poor tuition

  5. this is misleading he’s using 6 notes not 4….G..A..C..C#…D…E.. bending notes changes their pitch, so they are different notes…pretty simple right.

  6. the crazy thing is when you learn to play the octave of those notes, and connect them together with the pentatonic scale, then you can run up and down the fretboard

  7. I get that it’s 4 notes, Clapton does this kind of thing all the time. the OP should just say mode mixture…because that’s what it is.

  8. nice video i learned playing blues with this tinyurl(.)com/7ch8jjw

  9. Very impressed… I play rhythm and have been wanting to get into leads and scales more so I can break into a newer sound and style for me. This is a good feel and a great step forward. I have shared your link to others that I play with and they love your stuff man. Keep jammin’!!!

  10. mode mixture.. aeolian and ionian. good stuff.

  11. I was skeptical, but this was really good.

  12. @freejrs I think he meant 4 notes by 2 frets per string, and there being 2 strings

  13. On the money there!
    Bends to Maj 3rd, b5, Perfect 5th!

  14. Dont need a lot of notes, just good phrasing.

  15. Thanks. I don’t get scales very well…obviously.

  16. Nice solo but only 4 notes??? No. In that solo you used the Root…….Flat 7th…….Minor 3rd…..Major 3rd……..Perfect 4th………..Perfect 5th and Flattened 5th.

    That’s 7 notes you played. Not 4. 😉

It’s a bit misleading to tell people you are only using 4 notes when you are infact using a combination of Major and Minor Pentatonic Scales and the Blues Scale!!!!!

Maybe you meant that you are playing just around that 4 note box shape but you are clearly playing more than 4 notes. 🙂

  17. – at least it’s not as bad as my Tyler :0
