  1. Awesome, absolutely awesome
I played that ‘Hendrix’ chord you said for a split second, looked kinda like a triad, then my hands just exploded into this cool amazing blues improv. Favorite lesson ever, I must’ve been sat for about an hour just improvising around that one chord, favorite chord ever 🙂

  2. Great video – Awesome guitar. Thanks for yet another great lesson

  3. I learned multiple guitar solos by heart, but just by copying them directly from other songs. I have little knowledge about scales and I need some help.

What exactly is meant by a ‘box pattern’? Why is this scale different from what other videos explain (like watch?v=r7md7sTJV4k)? The scale in Marty’s vid has 19 picks and the on in the link only 13? Is Marty just playing an extention with notes from this scale or what?

  4. thanks alot:) I’ve played guitar for a while now but it was always more of a party trick but now Im older and wanna get more serious with it and you videos help alot:)

  5. That everyone learns first.. bambampirpirirpirpribampirpirbambambambapirprirpripripriabam… yeah, i know that too…

  6. I agree brother. You are right, no need to rush. 🙂

  7. Alright, maybe you’re right 🙂 But there’s just no need to rush

  8. Hey man. Those blues licky-things and improv around all the blues pentatonic scales doesnt take that long. Dont discourage people.
It took me 6 months to do that along some BB.King style playing along and around the E-major. After about 6 months you can improv around the scales and have about 20-30 chords in your pocket.
Guitar isnt that hard people, its just fun! 🙂

  9. Hey Marty thanks for the licks. Ive been playing a long time but your licks fill in some ideas I have been missing. For those who dont know Marty is joining the Blues Pentatonic scales going up the neck. Im gonna become an active member of your website.
Thanks Marty, some more acoustic stuff would be great.
