  1. Very True. Arlen Roth made up and played most of the blues fill in’s in the Movie.
Here is a link to everything I have said to the Truth about Arlen Roth and the movie CrossRoads… Everyone should read this, this is all truth from Mr. Roth himself, just like he told me at the guitar clinic.

  3. oh man? es cierto eso que cuentas?is it truth that history?

  4. Srry to inform you, BUT, Arlen Roth did almost all the blues parts, he wanted exclusive name rights for the songs and was fired. Not only Fired but they used the songs that he had made, Mr Roth Sued and a settlement was made, BUT his name was removed from all and most of theparts excluding that he was RM’s guitar coach. I spoke with Arlen Roth about this at a guitar clinic he gave in 1994 in gret length, It was a disgrace what they did, RM at the movies end gave the Tele signded to Mr Roth.

  5. dont forget arlon roth that guy did alot of work on the crossroads guitar parts

  6. ‘Nothing more beautiful than the sound of a guitar crying. that’s blues.

  7. And don’t forget that Arlen Roth played most of the blues parts in this movie, not to mention that he directed alot of the music scenes and of course, taught Macchio to fake the parts!

  8. listening to robert johnson, muddy waters, they all have music similar to this. Close to this exact song however, I’m not sure.

  9. ummm…ok. cool story bro? I never knew that about Ry Cooder, thats cool. I was merely commenting on the sound, not the player. whatevs

  10. is there any famous slide blues guitar song similar to this one?

  11. Saddest goddamn blues song ever and there’s not one lyric in it. That says something about playing with emotion.

  12. If I am not mistaken most if not all of the slide work on this video/movie was done by Ry Cooder. While Steve Vai did indeed do the rest……….

  13. well, not to be argumentative (sp?), but you’re right, the vibrato is coming from the slide, but there is a tremolo (volume modulation) in there as well. I know Steve Vai did all this music, so i’m sure there was a tremolo active, it was just a nerdy observation when looking at his movie-prop setup.

  14. He is playing slide guitar, the tremolo is coming from the bottle neck on his left hand, its more of a vibrato

  15. i love this movie, and love the blues, but i just noticed, where is that tremolo coming from? lol

  16. vote up if watching this in 2012 🙂 and my best bit 0.00 – 2.14

  17. taken down as soon as my thesis is over, two years ago.
