Demo of a vintage National Duolian from 1933. Playing Elmore James version of Dust My Broom. Seeing as I keep getting asked this : 1. Its played in Open D tuning, in the key of D 2. I do not own this guitar any more – I sold it for a nicer one, then I sold that to buy a Hammond organ (A100) and a National Resophonic M1 Tricone resonator guitar (wood body).

  1. Nice delivery good attack and that axe sounds good, i have no issues with your mic you come over well enough. Good strong right hand you using finger pickson all or just thumb and first finger?

  2. Nice! I always wished I could do that kind of bottlenect but never managed it.

  3. Don´t worry about the disliker, they´re just damn jealous of your guitar mojo. They say nobody knows what the guitar mojo really is, but if someone got it, you can tell.

I believe I speak for the rest of your fans here when I say you definately got it.

  4. I think that’s the best sounding guitar I’ve ever heard in my life! Tremendous slide/fingerstyle playing…thank you for posting this !

  5. only reason i can think of people not liking it is because of the finger picks and they’re expecting bare fingers.
I don’t think that though. Great playing, great singing (I’m reallllllly picky with singing, take it as a high compliment)

  6. have you guys actually heard elmore james?? dirty/wild playing is what he’s all about..

  7. Your singing is real good, much more than I expected. I don’t pretend to know anything, but perhaps the playing is a bit too "wild". I’m sure you’re much better by now though.
In any case, you got my thumb-up 🙂

  8. its dirty plyin’.. but your voice,, killiiiinggggg meee!! BRAVO BRAVO

  9. it’s really really really dang good man, i don’t know what they’re complaining about

  10. do not get caught up in petty differences OF playing styles. blues purists LOVE to BS about how things SHOULD be played. well, they SHOULD be PLAYED ANY OLE WAY YOU WANT! THAT’S WHAT THE BLUES IS ALL ABOUT. People who waste your time with such pettiness are simply JEALOUS. Ignore them and do whatever you like my friend, you’ve proven without a shadow of a doubt that you know what you’re doing 🙂

  11. this song cannot and should not be played with anything BUT all your energy. What..? you want a wimpy version of Dust My Broom??? sheesh

  12. the audio is fantastic and playing as well, vocals are spot freaking on. well done

  13. You’re a very, very good player and singer. The reason why you got a few dislikes is probably because you are playing a very fast and energized blues, not everyone likes it. I for one am still learning, and recieved a few criticisms from blues purists for playing with too much energy – and I’m not even remotely fast as this! BTW, I heard your other videos and I like the more emotional playing of the last ones, good job.
