Open G (DGDGBD). Originally written in 1855 as "One Fishball" by Harvard Professor Emeritus in Latin, George Martin Lane. It was based on a personal experience when he found himself stranded in Boston with 25c in his pocket. It was going to cost him 10c to get home, leaving him 15c for dinner. In 1944, the song was revived by Tin Pan Alley songwriters Hy Zaret and Lou Singer in a more bluesy format as "One Meat Ball", and the recording by Josh White became one of the biggest hits of the early part of the American folk music revival. Ry Cooders version aint bad either! www.myspace.com Andy Calvert did the recording. Top Chap!
I love this! Kudos!!
I’m playing at The Rose and Crown, 10 St Michael’s St, St Albans, Herts, this coming Monday, 20th June.
yeah man. killed it.
My son has a Regal rc51 but it does not sound as good as yours. Is yours stock, or did you replace the cones?
Great playing! Please make a lesson.
hi garry very nice indeed it was good to briefly meet you in jan at atherstone
It’s a modern Chinese copy (trademarked "Regal") of a 1927 designed resophonic guitar ( a mechanical system to make guitars louder before electronic amplification ). It’sa tricone meaning it has three aluminium cones that act like loudspeakers. I’ve visited your channel. Keep up the good work young man, you’re a gifted player. Work at it and find your own "voice". Listen to as many kinds of music as you can. Good luck.
i forget the name of that guitar what is what
Loving it! Great song, great execution. Keep jamming!
Thank you. I’m not a musician but you have really captured the whimsy as well as pathos intended by this tune. Good stuff, Sir.
Hi Garry,
