  1. i like the intro, but the guitar does not give that bright tone that is found on the recording. Is that because your guitar is not set up right or is it because the amp is not set up right.

  2. hey Lerb, can ya post a lesson on country boy, if you know how to do that 1?
that would be awesome if you could.
thanks and keep on keepin on!

  3. what are the keys for this song at the beginning?
    And goog play too;)

  4. Thanks for that information.
    Looking forward to my Esquire.
What do you think of Fender Frontman amps (can’t afford a Deluxe Reverb, which maybe would be the best I could get … ;-))? Got any experience with them? And do they suit the Esquire (transistor amp)?
Now I’ve chosen the best guitar I know, I need an appropriate amp, that’s for sure.

  5. To be honest, I can’t even remember. Judging from the Mother-of-Pearl inlays, this is probably my Tele. Just remember, the only difference between the Esquire and Tele sounds is the Esquire can get ‘hotter’ because of the lack of polarity put upon it by only one pickup, while the Tele simply has that mellow neck pickup.

  6. Thanks! If you say bridge pickup – is that not an Esquire you’re playing here??

  7. Which position is your 3-way-switch in? Looking forward to my soon-being-here Esquire (gonna get the Sunburst one Luther played at Folsom and since 1965!) and am just interested how you set up guitar and amp! Would appreciate if you told me!

  8. ya can you post a vid on how to play Hey Porter that song is awesome!!!!!

  9. nice lession i really liked the hey porter song at the end can u post a video for that.

  10. Maybe dude I dont know. I’ve kind looked but it does sound similar to Bob’s I think. I have a CD of Cash in the 80’s redoing old songs and I think that may be it.

  11. Yeah now I see rather hear it, I must be doing some different version. Maybe the version from the Walk the Line soundtrack?

  12. K. I don’t know how to describe it. Watch the video called "Home of the Blues 1957" from Endiman. You will see that he does something different toward the end of the solo. He like grabs E chord (like you) and he hits each string then goes into the notes on the A string. Just didn’t know if you were doing a different version because all the Home of Blues I’ve heard are like in the 1957 vid. Your’s sounds good tho mate, just different.

  13. Define ‘sounds different’? I posted like vid like a year ago, memories a bit fuzzy.

  14. Which album are you basing the solo off of? The sun one in 1957 sounds different.
