Your first song is the very beautiful song, "Melissa", written and performed by The Allman Brothers. Enjoy! The Form of the Song ——————————————————————— "Melissa" has a fairly unconventional song form. This is because the verse and chorus sections arent clearly defined as separate from one another. Thats why they are defined as a combined "versechorus" sections. There are essentially two main sections in the song. Here is the form:VerseChorus Section: * The first part of this section consists of three different chords, all of which have the open E in the bass. These chords are: open E, F#m11E and G#m11E. Dont be intimidated by the minor 11 over E chords. This just means that you are playing three fretted notes on the 5th, 4th and 3rd strings while leaving the other strings open (refer to the video above). This part starts repeating, then launches into the second part of the section. * The second part of the versechorus section consists of the following chords: open A, Bm, C#m, D, open E, F#m, G#m and an A bar. All of these chords with the exception of the open A and open E are bar chords. B minor, C# minor and D are 5th string bar chords. F# minor <b>…<b>
